Bawley Bush Retreat is the perfect coastal location for you to bring your common interest group for a fully live-in workshop, retreat, seminar or, with approval, holiday. Our aim is to provide a memorable coastal environment, central group event space with an economical accommodation and tariff combo. Our tariffs are set to enable commercial group leaders to make a financial success of their away-trips and for leisure groups we accept to simply enjoy our spaces.. We have become particularly well known in the yoga community as an excellent yoga retreat destination but a diverse range of commercial and non-commercial groups use our facility.
Included in our whole-of-property hire, additional to accommodation, is 100sqm timber-floored celebration/workspace ("Cockatoo Room") opening to a 47sqm veranda; 75sqm of inside lounge area ("Casuarina Lounge") with another veanda; a large catering kitchen (set up for 120); and 40sqm upstairs of principals' (or caterers'?) escape or "green room". For all groups access to all 36 acres of our grounds is included, exclusive access for those who book our whole property. The grounds include forests, lawns (marquee available), bush and lakeside bushwalks and free access to kayaks for use on the lake (not always navigable) to paddle to the beach or up creeks. So, whether you need space for a bodywork, personal or business development seminar, craft or art workshop or you just want to have a large space for a family or group get-together then check us out before choosing somewhere else. We are completely secluded so the most private of retreats can be convened here. We are great value at all times and we sincerely believe you will find our workshop-space-with-accommodation tariff combos very hard to beat.
Our standard accommodation capacity consists of unzippable (to make singles) king beds (9), queen sofa beds (2) and foldup singles (up to 14). We will send you a bed configuration sheet to make sure everything is set up correctly in time for your visit. While our Whole of Property is available for hire all year, for the summer holiday period from pre Christmas to end January, only groups can book us before 1 December each year. Only from that date do we open our individual cottages for casual holiday bookings.

Exclusive use of property is available only by booking all of our accommodation cottages. We require a booking minimum of 2 nights but at least 3 during summer holidays. We require all commercial group leaders to have liability insurance that protects them and us. All groups on their first visit are required to pay a $1000 bond which will be refunded if the property and its contents are left undamaged; chairs, tables, kitchenware etc returned clean to where found; and rubbish is bagged and left in rubbish trailer. We welcome family and friends recreational groups, especially over summer, but all group bookings are provisional until we accept purpose of booking. We do not accept schoolies, under-25 birthday celebrations or single sex re-union or party groups. For all hires we charge for over-standard time spent cleaning up at $55 per hour which we will add to tariff or deduct from the bond.
We do not manage or organise retreats on our own account nor do we provide a retail booking service for retreat leaders. Our primary business is the provision of our entire property for hire. Only when no whole-of-property booking is on hand do we make our individual cottages available for hire. For all hires we supply accommodation linen and hotel-style amenities. In all cases guests manage their own provisions, services and activities. We will do what we can before arrival to help group organisers to prepare for for a successful event. At weekends there will be no BBR staff on property but telephone help will be available 24 hours.
