Retreat, workshop, common-interest group venue, South Coast, NSW
Attention workshop leaders, event organisers!!!
Bawley Bush Retreat at Bawley Point is the perfect coastal location for you to bring your group for a workshop, retreat or holiday. Our aim is to create a space and tariff combo to enable commercial group leaders to make their away trips a financial success. We have a beautiful 100sqm timber-floored celebration/workspace ("Cockatoo Room") opening to a 47sqm veranda, 75sqm of inside lounge area adjacent to the workshop room and kitchen and a 50sqm of principals' green room/escape upstairs. We have extensive lawns that can be used for outdoor activities including space for our marquee or a third part one.
All retreat groups have fully-included access to our fully equipped, large commercial kitchen and full access to all 36 acres of our grounds in addition to our comfortable, flexible cottage accommodation. The grounds include forests, lawns, bush and lakeside bushwalks and free access to kayaks for use on the lake to paddle to the beach or up creeks. Whether you need space for a bodywork, personal development seminar, craft or art workshop, another creative or serious purpose or you just want to have a large space for a family event or reunion then check us out before choosing somewhere else. We are completely secluded so the most private of retreats can be convened here. We are such great value at all times we sincerely believe you will find our workshop-space-with-accommodation combos very hard to beat.
Please note we do not run or organise retreats on our own account or provide a retail booking service for retreat attenders. Our business is the provision of beautiful spaces, accommodation with linen, amenities and grounds for hire by retreat leaders and event organisers for the pleasure and/or education of their own clients. You rent our property and manage your own activities, we will not be present but we do what we can in preparation to help all users run successful events. Contact us if you need help with budgeting.

"Our absolute favourite location.... on the South Coast for yoga retreats. We love the natural setting that feels miles from anywhere, and the cottages are all cosy and comfortable. The main hall is set up perfectly for yoga classes - high ceilings, timber floors, plenty of natural light, excellent sound equipment, and of course the log fire for winter retreats. We especially love the fact that we can be fully self-contained with our own chef, and literally have the property all to ourselves. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to host very special and intimate yoga retreats." ~ Nicole Walsh | Yoga Teacher & Teacher Trainer, InYoga - Sydney
During 2020 we have upgraded our venue to provide 75sqm of lounge area and a green room adjacent to the Cockatoo Room and commercial kitchen. This change now allows a whole retreat group to dine and/or socialise together outside the worksop/celebration room before retiring to their sleeping accommodation in cottages. Our venue has been used by yoga, quilting, writing, music and personal development groups as well as by government, peak industry bodies and businesses for planning and staff development sessions. It is perfect for any common interest group as well as for family celebrations. Ours is a very private retreat environment isolated from neighbours and with no passing traffic except for wildlife. We have all the facilities you would expect in a 4-star-equivalent south coast tourism facility: comfortable accommodation, beautiful craftsmanship in construction, timber floors, iconic bush and lake views, plenty of electrical device capacity, music players and microphones, overhead projector, wide screen TV with HDMI input, wi-fi, plenty of tables and chairs etc etc. We do not directly provide food for guest groups but our well-equipped caterer's kitchen is ready for your own self-catering or for the caterer of your choice. Local caterers, used to working at Bawley Bush Retreat, are listed under the Local Provider's subtab of this site.
To find out about available dates and tariffs you would be best to call or email. If you want to learn more about our marquee check its description which you will find under our Weddings tab. If you are a leader who would like to come and check us out then we can put you up overnight at a nominal tariff that covers our room servicing costs.
